Getting back into the swing of things

Wow, haven’t talked to you people in about two weeks! Well, you virtual people. Let me fill you in.

Regular class has started again, which is good. I like routine, at least for a little while. Til it gets boring again. Some of these classes are reallllllllllly great. I mean, I always loved school (most of the time) and learning and stuff but there are some classes I really look forward to. The teachers are fun too – one brought in some snacks for Rosh Chodesh, another agreed to an impromptu trip to Tovel our Kalim (this was in Brachos class, by the way, but that’s a whole story in itself). We do have a bit more work now, but its not crazy or too hard, bH.

The reunion with my old friends was really fun, I’m glad it worked out. Second days I stayed at some random person’s house I was set up at – they were cute, had two adorable kids. Ate meals at various peoples’ houses (including one lunch that didn’t start til ten to four – that was fun) and met some people. Davened at the Mir for second night and day.

Went on trip Thursday into the weekend – hard but great hike up a mountain, exploring an old city, candle factory (which I hear burned down the next day), ancient ruins, and a nice hotel where we stayed. Had lots of fun – we gained a new theme song (which the bus driver decided to blast every time he stopped the bus to “wake us up”). Littlest bro, you should know exactly what song I’m talking about – it’s your favorite song (and they sing it a bit differently than you :) )

But I’m excited to relax (or work hard, depending on how you see it) a bit now. I might be taking singing lessons from someone in a nearby city with a friend, and I hope it works out. Got some books I borrowed from a teacher so now I have some reading material, and I’m gonna have some very special guests very soon – can’t wait!!!!!!!!

Luv y’alll

Holidaze…

Well, I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of this place. Branching out a bit more, going places I’ve never been.

First days I stayed at a teacher’s house in an area I’d never been to before – that was nice, and peaceful. Afterwards I went with a friend to a Simchat Beit Hashoeva, singing and dancing in the Rova – fun, but smaller than I imagined. It was great to be back in the City, I just love that place. And no, don’t know what you’re talking about, of COURSE I only went where I was supposed to, of COURSE I didn’t go thru the area I wasn’t supposed to be at 9 o clock at night. Of course.

The next day I went to Birkat Kohanim at the Wall – there were tons of people, kinda a madhouse, but an exhilarating madhouse. Loved it. Got a little lost on the way out (found myself somehow walking thru a market manned by – well, people who are not generally too friendly) but I was with a friend, and bh we made it through. It’s all good.  :)

The school took us on a trip that afternoon to a gorgeous beach. I’d forgotten how much I love jumping into waves and the sand and sea and things like that. I went shell hunting and wave-riding and later on, there was singing and dancing. It was lots of fun. Plus later that night I got to meet up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while.

Speaking of friends I haven’t seen in a while, tomorrow I’m hopefully gonna be able to see some friends I haven’t seen in two years!! Can’t wait. Hope it all works out.

I hope you all are doing well. Keep in touch, cuz I’m not always able to call but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk!!

The possibilities, they are endless…

How’ve y’all been?? Good, I hope – I’ve been speaking to some of you recently and that seems to be the general consensus. If I haven’t spoken to you, sorry – call me!! Thanks to those who did call me by the way.

So, if you want to know how things are going here – well, they’re going. Well, I might add. Finding the classes I’m liking best (one of them, surprisingly, is Pedagogue – never pegged myself as a teacher but we have some really interesting discussions in that class…). Might join a choir to perform at a school trip up north in a few weeks. For that matter, I might take singing lessons…goodness knows I could probably use some…although there is also a cosmetology course being offered (outside of school) – interesting prospect. Always wanted to know how to cut hair. Though being a shaitel macher was never one of my aspirations either…

Now with all the breaks, classes are fewer and far between – soon enough we’ll return to a normal schedule. For now, though, I have to focus on finding places for the weekends. I do have a few people I still have to go to. Including a long-lost relative of sorts – that was a fun phone call. Speaking of random phone calls, I also got one from a friend of Grammy’s who sends packages to people like me…and I have no idea who she is! She’s gonna send me a care package! Isn’t that nice? Thanks for telling her about me, Grammy!

Have been doing better at managing my money for the most part. But now that I want to send some packages, that might change a bit. Oh well you guys are worth it : ) .

Hope you all have a “good sealing”, if you catch my drift, and a great week!! And month and year!! Hoping to speak to (most) of you soon!!

Love, me
